Do you ask yourself the question of what you can do to serve God and the ministry of Jesus Christ? I think we need to constantly reflect on this, to remind ourselves that we will have to answer for whatever service we have done for Him and others — whether good or bad.

It doesn’t necessarily require money or material items to serve Him. Even a single act of kindness towards your neighbor, whether an encouraging word or helping them with something, can go a long way. If you look at it like this, the world is a small thing compared to God. I’d imagine he dwarfs the entire thing in comparison to His greatness. In that way, though great and overwhelmingly beneficial for us, it was just a small act of God (as He might see it) that led to the creation of the entire world and all its benefits, even our lives.

So no, you do not need to do incredible feats to serve Christ; even a little goes a long way. You can volunteer your time and energy at an event or just volunteer time into holding the door open at the supermarket for a stranger. You can spend time in prayer or at church and serve Him in your heart.

Jesus says in the Bible that someone who offers even a cup of cold water to His people will certainly not lose their reward.

Just ask yourself the question and then ask God: what can I do to serve Jesus Christ today? And then look for opportunity to do so in the moment or as you go about your day. There are numerous ways to serve Him and as long as the willingness is there to serve Him, then I think it is acceptable, even if nothing comes to you that you are able to do.
